Africana Studies Minor
Overview
A minor in Africana studies will allow students the opportunity to gain basic knowledge and perspectives about the people, cultures, histories, and conditions of the African Diaspora. Examples of majors with a possible interest in the Africana studies minor include economics, communications, education, English literature or writing, history, sociology, theatre arts, and urban studies.
Tracks
The minor is designed to allow students to focus on one cultural cluster in the Department of Africana Studies:
- African-American culture;
- African culture; or
- Multidisciplinary.
Each track consists of 15 credits. Any exceptions must be approved by the Africana studies advisor.
