The Kuntu Writers' Workshop
Overview
Kuntu Writers' Workshop was founded in 1976 by the late August Wilson and the late Rob Penny.
Purpose
To bring writers together in a meaningful discussion and to assist them with getting published and/or produced.
Mission Statement
1. To bring writers together for meaningful discussion.
2. To assist writers in getting published and or produced.
3. To be a presenting organization.
Vision
To develop and celebrate Black writers and enhance cultural enrichment in the global community.
Meetings Schedules
The Kuntu Writers' Workshop meets the first and third Saturday of each month from noon to 4 p.m. in the office of the Department of Africana Studies. There are workshop sessions in poetry, fiction, and playwriting. It is free and open to students, non-students, youth, and senior citizens.
