Dr. Kamesha Spates has recently co-authored “Repertoire of Resilience: Black Women’s Social Resistance to Suicide” with Dr. Brittany Slatton. The article was selected among a large pool of nominated works for the North Central Sociological Association's Scholarly Achievement Award. Dr. Spates's article was ranked highest by a three-member committee of judges. Her work will be honored during an awards ceremony at the NCSA’s meeting on March 24-25, 2023, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
