Ervin Dyer

Dr. Ervin Dyer is an adjunct Professor in the Department of Africana Studies. Dr. Dyer is an award-winning news journalist and storyteller who specializes in coverage of African American life and culture. He has received a Pulitzer Center grant to report from Haiti and other fellowships to report from Ghana, South Africa, Tanzania, Japan, and Thailand. He is currently working on a bio-memoir about his mother and her overcoming of gender and race discriminations. Dr. Dyer is a graduate of Norfolk State University and has a PhD in sociology from the University of Pittsburgh.
